Statement of Practice

I paint in oil and watercolour, my work dividing roughly into three kinds: a representational but personal view of landscape ; semi- abstract glimpses of landscape ; and paintings of a much more abstract nature which reflect my response to that of which landscape is composed – rock, water, organic matter, and colour. I am especially fascinated with a sense that contained within a stone are all the elements of what we see around us and beyond. My recent series Beyond the Stone” reflects these ideas.
