The area where I live.
Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas have many interesting aspects worth investigating. They have their own websites,  and also can be found on www.gloriousgalloway.com. During the summer months the Summer Festivities in Kirkcudbright host and organise many family events. Their website is www.summerfestivities.com. Kirkcudbright is known  as "The Artists' Town" not only because of its association with famous artists of 50 - 100 years ago: the town is a centre of contemporary art and craft where exhibitions and open studios are regulary held. www.kirkcudbrightartiststown.co.uk has a good "what's on" guide for you to search through. For information about Castle Douglas and other places in Dumfries and Galloway also visit the excellent website www.dgvisitor.co.uk and Dumfries%20and%20Galloway%20Online%20c/a>" target="_blank">http://www.dumfries-and-galloway.co.uk/"target="_blank">Dumfries and Galloway Online c/a> is worth a look also. Other interesting links

Having lived almost half my life in Finland I have many fond memories of life there. The town where I lived and worked was Joensuu which has it's own website part of which is written in English.

I am a member of The Society of Scottish Artists who also have their own website. The society works very hard to promote Scottish Art and Artists and holds an annual exhibition in Edinburgh. For other scottish based artists, please visit www.scotlandsartists.com, which also has some pages relating to my gallery and to my work.  For fine   scottish craft makers including ceramics and jewellery, please see www.scottishcraft.com. I occasionally have exhibitions at my studio which include other artists' work; one such artist is Anne Duffy; her website can be seen at www.duffyart.co.uk
