The Clience Studio Gallery

Clience Studio opened as a gallery in Kirkcudbright “artists’ town" in May 2005, moving to the bustling market town of Castle Douglas in 2007. The gallery at 212 King Street Castle Douglas, under the town clock, and is very welcoming and unusual in atmosphere, often with the artist busy at teh easel. It displays original paintings in oil and watercolour as well as a wide selection of prints. The artist is happy top discuss aspects of her work with visitors or arrange for commissions if they wish. Signed prints and cards calendars are also available for purchase. You are also welcome to enquire about workshops and painting courses.

The name “Clience” comes from the gaelic word meaning “a collection of stones” or a “stony place”. I began my ongoing series of paintings called “Within the Stone” and “Beyond the Stone” whilst still living in Finland, and the fascination still continues. When naming the studio it seemed the obvious choice…….

Clience Studio is very accessible, situated on the main street through Castle Douglas, under the clocktower, and is just off the A75.

The Castle Douglas gallery will be open as follows:

October 31 - May from Monday- Saturday from 10.30 -5 pm and from June - September from 10 -5 Monday - Saturday.
